The first blog...

Who knew I'd do this? It all started with my friend Amanda, so thanks AJ...And now all of you are lucky enough to partake of my mad skills. Pretty exciting stuff, eh? Well, Matt and I have been married for a year and a half, our big day was September 16, 2006. We were lucky enough to get married in the Logan Temple, which was perfect for us since our whole relationship began in Logan back in 2001...wow...we took a while, didn't we? All good things take time I suppose. Logan is a special place to both of us and while I don't think I'll live there again, I love thinking of the craziness of the Porterhouse and amazing friends that I met there. Logan days were full of snow, canyon adventures, Baby Animal Day, and my favorite old man Stanly, oh and a bit of school at Utah State University. The aforementioned Porterhouse gave me the opportunity to live with my dearest friends. Talk about counting your blessings... Interesting that I'm stuck in this Logan mode at the moment when it feels like its so far away. The walk down memory lane never gets old.
And now fast forward to the present time, we're in a place that lives up to its name, Beaverton, Oregon. There are at least two resident beavers that live nearby, and I love them. Our one bedroom apartment is a perfect fit for us and our two hamsters, Arnold and Fiona, and our beta fish Sonny Simon. Spring time is the best animal time of the year. I can't get enough of it. Oregon is such a great place to live...unfortunately I haven't been able to explore as much as I want to. Graduate school sort of sucks the life out of a person. Not always in a bad way... Strangely, I feel like I know less than I did before I started my master program, but its been a life changing experience for me. I've learned how to be more comfortable with not knowing, its quite the feat.
While this past year hasn't been full of crazy camel rides through the Saraha Desert or skydiving off the coast of Spain (like in years gone by :) its been nice to slow down a bit. And with that, I'm signing off.
