Lalalalalalala

There's a new talent among us. My friend AJ (who is very talented, but not the exact person I'm talking about) introduced me to this new author. The reason I haven't been blogging is because I've been reading her books like mad. Perhaps its my love for the Brits that got me hooked, but regardless of that Louise Rennison is magical with the pen, or computer, whatever it is she choses to write with.

This is her first book in the series Confessions of Georgia Nicolson. At first I was hesitant about blogging about this, as I don't like to cast pearls before swine (not that you are swine, its just a figure of speech). Anyway, the point of this is to say if you are or ever were a teen age girl, these books are for you. Another hitch I would add to this is anyone who has ever loved the English, or if you are English, or understand their humor, these books will be even funnier. I can't remember the last time I've laughed so hard at a book. I'm afraid to read them in public because I aboslutely can't control myself.

I just wanted to have this as a preface to the reason I'm so angry that book #7 that I ordered 2 weeks ago on amazon still hasn't come! What kind of sick joke is this? So while I wait, I check out the website sometimes just to read little bits here and there (if you click on the title of this blog it will take you to the website). Sigh...

In other important news, I landed a sweet job in Salt Lake City, Utah. After a 2 month bout with unemployment, my wait is over. Primary Children's Hospital is my new roost and its a great step for my career of trying to teach people to be nice to each other (ie parents to children mostly). Other positives of moving back to Utah are as follows:

  • My family and Matt's family
  • Soulmate Bethany's wedding in October, but more importantly so I can plan her bachelorette party
  • NKOTB (New Kids On The Block) concert in November in SLC my mom FINALLY bought tickets for me and my sis (at last the 10 year old Keeley can really have her dreams fulfilled)
  • Most of my dearest friends are in SLC at the moment, so we can party like its 1994
  • And my favorite is always the SNOW!!

So I'll leave you with that important info for now. More to come, I'm sure....

I am soo happy for you. Now when I am in SLC, we can see each other. Seriously, next time T-dog is there, we will have to come and we can all get together and laugh our heads off about nothing until late in the night. (hopefully it won't scare your spouses. Luckily mine is part of the weirdness so he gets it) I miss that.

Congrats on the new job! I'm glad you'll be closer to friends and family. I'll have to check out that book. I've been reading like mad this summer since I finally have a choice other than textbooks. I'm into Isabel Allende right now.

Okay - so I just finished the first book and it's a total blast from the past. Turns out these books were written while I was in my all-girls high school. Very funny!
