The Nation's Capital

It's been a while since I TRAVELED somewhere!  There was a time in my life I thought my traveling days would never end.  I loved those days, very, very much.  I love my days now too, they've just taken a new twist.  Anyway, the first weekend in October was full of overdue reunifications and lots of laughing.  One of my dear friends got married and he lives in DC.  So I got some of my favorite lady friends and we took DC by storm.
See?  STORM.
Everyone has those friends that whenever they go somewhere, cool things follow.  Well, that's pretty much a guarantee with Amanda and Beth.  I've been all over the globe with these two and it never fails to provide years of stories and entertainment.  I choose wisely when I travel.

The big day for our friend Devin aka Devo aka Davis was in the heart of the Old Georgetown.  Background: Devo was one of the first friends I met in London.  Beth and I had a bout with homelessness and Devin took us in.  That flat in Shepard's Bush is not only where friendship blossomed, but it's where Beth and I shared a twin mattress on the eve of her 24th birthday.  I can't even start on my adventures with Beth.  One day, we'll write a book and sign a copy for you.
Back in our London days, people assumed Amanda and I were sisters.  We never corrected them.  To this day, people ask about my sister Amanda.  It's fine by me.  I'm happy to claim this little darling.  How many other people would jump in Trafalgar's fountains in the middle of February?  Not many is the answer.   You know the friend that always knows the funny, under appreciated books or show?  That's Amanda.  She's great to have in your back pocket.
At last, the happy groom!  Have you ever seen a bigger smile?  I have to say, I've loved watching love catch fire with Devo.  I'm so happy he's happy. That's all I can really say!  Isn't it fun when your friends meet their perfect match?

And yes, I missed Van and Matt like crazy, but I came back waaaaayy more energized.  In fact, I've actually made dinner and stuff pretty much every day since I've been back.  No big deal you say, but if you lived in our home, it's quite the contrary.
